This site is used to house the Life Sciences animation quizzes.

General Information

This site provides an easy way to view the available Life Sciences animation quizzes. Each quiz consists of a Flash animation (some are interactive) coupled with assessment questions. Some quizzes have alternate versions that consist of a different animation, different quiz questions, or both.

The quizzes are organized into categories e.g.: Biology, A & P, Nutrition, etc. These categories are further broken down into specific topics. The individual quizzes ("atoms" in Novellaspeak) reside within each topic.

The Biology category contains all of the quizzes. For convenience, these same quizzes have been organized into the other categories: Biology, A & P, Nutrition, etc.

Development

This site makes it easy to insert quizzes into OLCs. The following method is recommended:

Copy Quizzes: Log in to the Novella CMS as "Content Management". Navigate to the selected quiz atom. Click "XML" on the top menu to switch to the XML view. Copy all of the XML, and paste into a text editor, such as Notepad. Save this document to your hard drive. Note: It is important to save as plain text only, with no extra formatting. Repeat for each desired quiz. Be careful not to change the existing Animation Quiz site.

Create New Quizzes: After completing the steps above, find the OLC you are working on within the Novella CMS. Logged in as "Site Management", add an atom of type "Mixed Quiz" to the appropriate location within the OLC. Then, logged in as "Content Management", navigate to this atom within Novella. Click "XML" on the top menu to switch to the XML view. Open the appropriate text file created during "Copy Quizzes" above. Copy all of the XML in the text file, and paste it into the XML field in the atom. Save the atom. Repeat for each quiz.
