The following questions are meant to help you evaluate your understanding of the material covered in Chapter 3.

1		Share contexts in your life representing each of the five environmental systems proposed by Bronfenbrenner.
2		Experiences connecting family and school are a good example of Bronfenbrenner's mesosystem. Research shows that the connection between these microsystems is important. How might a teacher nurture this connection?
3		Create a class assignment that stimulates identity exploration in adolescence.
4		Discuss which type of parenting style you feel your parents used and give evidence to support your statement. What effects do you feel this style of parenting had on your development?
5		If you could develop a high school class titled "Preparing for College and the Workplace" what might you include in the course of study? Draft a syllabus that includes course objectives and share it with your administration.
6		Randy has no idea what he wants to do after graduating from high school. He is in his senior year and seems more interested in parties, hanging out with his friends, and whatever comes up that day. How would you classify Randy in terms of identity status?
7		Using Kohlberg's Heinz dilemma on Page 95, classify this response: "It's a natural thing for Heinz to want to save her life, but it's always wrong to steal. He still knows he's stealing and taking a valuable drug from the man who made it." What stage would this response belong to?
8		A colleague comes to you because he has lost all patience with a student who does not work well with others, is generally inconsiderate, and is often excluded by other students. You have agreed to share your faculty-planning hour to discuss possible solutions. What ideas might you share?
9		You are co-founding a new early childhood program and are developing the core curriculum. Which approach to early childhood education will you use as the foundation of your program? Why? Describe a "typical day" at your program.
